Before I bought this grinder I read some reviews on the internet. The number one concern (negative review) was that the grinder was difficult to grip. I would say this grinder is not the easiest to hold, but not the hardest. It meets my needs because it allows me to grind for pour over, french press, or aeropress and I believe it does that well. The grind appears to be uniform. It's easy to adjust. I do not brew espresso or turkish, so I cannot speak to that.
I will say that if you need a very fine grind and you have a very light roast you might want a different grinder because the finer the grind and the lighter the roast the harder it is to hold while turning the handle.
It works well for my needs so I am giving it five stars.

I was so relieved to find this paddle wheel was readily available when my coffee grinder broke. With the youtube instructions, it was a quick install and we’re back up and running for under $15 . Not bad!

exact replacement and their videos are priceless. Replaced the outer burr also although the old one was still good just the holder had cracked from 8 years of use.

Delivery was very fast, no complaints at all. I emaile for some assistance and received an immediate answer. The person who answered needed advice from the service department, but I figured out the problem right after hanging you.
I did have major problems removing the cover and cut the bottom up, but not enough to hurt the performance. It would have been helpful to have a wiring diagram, or description of where the wires go. (Unless I missed it somewhere.)

The Porta folder support bracket is flat but my Portafilter is round causing the Portafilter to lean or not engage correctly. To be clear, I am keeping the holder in case I upgrade to a new coffee maker with a flat bottom Portafilter. This review is so others can be aware before purchasing.

Baratza is a top quality coffee bean grinder so I can't add to that. However service from Fresh Press was very impressive. They sent video instructions for installing g the part I ordered. The Baratza grinder is no too difficult to work on but even the burr assembly is put together in a very precise order so that video was super important and very much appreciated.

My encore's circuit board burned out, literally melted a hole right through itself. This replacement is working great so far. At first I thought it was a dud because when the machine was still partially disassembled but had the new board it would not run, but then I checked and there is a safety disconnect switch up near the grinding bur housing, with the twist selector set to remove the bur, the safety switch is tripped and it will not run.
