I was worried that this would not fit as the old ones did, but it fits perfectly. It helped return my grinder back to its original self.

Thought it would be much more expensive. Had I known, I would have bought several! I grind every day. A tab broke off the plastic burr holder..right where this piece goes on...so it would get caught, and eventually - after 2 years, mind you - it began to tear. I was using it for weeks after, but the new one installed without a hitch!

New ones may look deformed...odd-shaped... no worries..just use them and they will eventually conform to a circular shape. The oily-coating/shine wears off after multiple uses, then it will last if you take care of it. I do what they say - never throw it in the dishwasher or scrub hard. I just run it under water for a few seconds, and once every few weeks or so, I'll give it a gentle hand-wash with dish soap.

It provides a decent seal. If you ever open up the griner...you'll see it's not a perfect seal. Dust gets in places. There's a video by these folks showing that you can add a few drops - drops...maybe just a drip off the end of a scoop...a tiny amount - into your beans to lower the amount of dust and static cling. That will make things easier to clean overall, and makes for a nicer grind.

I recommend having at least one extra.

My first gasket snapped in half when I stretched it (per instructions in the video.) Igor and gang sent out a new one lickety split and I was a little more gentle the second time around and gasket slipped on easily, no breakage.

The gasket cracked at one of the notches when I was putting it on. Watching the video first would have helped but I didn't know about it.

Nice snug fit in comparison to the worn out and splitting original gasket I replaced with this. In addition to keeping the grinder somewhat clean, this part also seems to apply pressure on the burr holder to dampen vibrations.

The Baratza grinder is well made, and made to last. Parts are replaceable if needed, not welded, riveted or glued in as most modern machines are; i.e., no "planned obsolescence." On top of this -- and what's really exceptional -- is that French Press Coffee has great before-and-after service. Even before your order arrives, they send videos on how to replace the ordered parts, and follow-up after to make sure it's OK. WHO ELSE DOES THIS IN THIS MODERN WORLD of poorly-made junk that's outa date in a year, with no-service, impossible-to-reach companies, etc. !? I'm impressed, and I am SELDOM impressed by on-line commerce.
