Baratza PortaHolder Replacement, Clear (fit Encore, Virtuoso +, Preciso), Part# 6043

The Porta folder support bracket is flat but my Portafilter is round causing the Portafilter to lean or not engage correctly. To be clear, I am keeping the holder in case I upgrade to a new coffee maker with a flat bottom Portafilter. This review is so others can be aware before purchasing.

This accessory makes it so easy now to make a cup of coffee in the morning. I was able to adjust the height of the holder with the tiny screw on the back. Now it is as simple as clipping in my metal screen and pushing the button on my Virtuoso. No cleanup needed. It takes a little bit of trial and error to adjust the timer and grind setting for the perfect amount. But after that, this accessory has simplified my daily coffee grinding experience.

This Portafilter holder works great and is adjustable for height. My 53mm Gaggia portafilter fits fine. I saw a recent release that Bartatza is coming out with the Baratza Encore ESP that includes the Portafilter holder, the M2 cone burr instead of the M3, along with the upgraded coffee grinder bin. So when I'm done with all the upgrades, it should be close. Not sure if I might need to updated the printed circuit board,, but it is supposed to have better grind control for finer espresso grinds.

Bought this with hesitation but using a portafilter funnel it works great. No mess and the funnel design keeps the coffee in the portafilter. So glad I got this. By the way, I added adhesive backed rubber strips to the metal arms of the holder to keep the portafilter from sliding. This should be included with the Baratza PortaHolder.

I ordered the Baratza single dose hopper along with the portaholder and M2 cone burr as an upgrade for an Encore - sort of a poor man's Niche Zero. The combination is fantastic, my Encore is now significantly faster and quieter and when I am making espresso, I grind straight to the portafilter with almost no spillage. My dosing ring maybe too tall as I cannot get the portafilter (Breville 54mm) in with it, but I am not seeing much mess.

I am using in a Virtuoso+ with the porta-filter from my pre-millennial La Pavoni Europiccola. Although I have adjusted the height, the fit is still not good. It does not sit squarely or securely and there are grounds on the counter top. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm using it with the Encore and Gaggia portafilter. It even works hands free, but suggest investing in a dosing ring, else you end up with grounds all over.

It's ok. Better than having to fill up the portafilter manually. I just wish the portafilter holder could be adjusted a little higher than the current highest setting. I always end up with grounds on my counter space.

The whole point of grinding your own coffee is for it to be fresh and this dirt cheap add on converts the already affordable Encore into a perfect companion for my Pavoni espesso maker. Why would you want to grind into a drawer?
